If you’ve booked a holiday with Haven, it’s definitely worth checking whether your break has gone down in price since you booked it, because you might be able to claim some money back on your break by using the Haven Price Promise.
I recently tried this myself on a holiday I had booked with my parents and found we were entitled to a small refund.
Our refund was only £10, but in the current climate, that’s still better than nothing, and it paid for a glass of wine in the Live Lounge at least!
Plus, I know other people who have had much larger amounts refunded. This could then be added to your pot for spending money or put towards the cost of travel.

What Is the Haven Price Promise?
The Haven Price Promise means that if the same holiday becomes cheaper after you’ve booked, Haven will refund you the difference.
This applies to:
- the same park
- same dates
- same caravan type
The refund is usually sent back to the original payment card used to book the holiday.
Extras such as choosing your caravan location or upgrades aren’t included in the comparison price – it just uses the base cost of your break.
How To Check If Your Haven Holiday Is Now Cheaper
The process is actually really simple and completely automated.
To check:
- Log into the Haven website
- Open the chat/message box
- Type in: “Haven Price Promise”
You’ll need to be the lead booker to do this:
The chatbot will then ask for details, including the following:
- your holiday booking/reference number
- full name
- email address
It will then bring up your holiday and ask if it’s the correct one (I assume incase anyone has more than one booked)
It will automatically calculate the current price of your holiday and compare it to what you originally paid.
If the exact same break is now cheaper, you’ll be refunded the difference.
You Can Check More Than Once
One really good thing about the Haven Price Promise is that you can use it multiple times before your holiday starts.
So if prices drop again later, you can go back through the process and potentially receive another refund.
And if the holiday now costs more? Well, at least you know you booked at a better price!
Why Your Haven Holiday Might Not Be Cheaper
There are quite a few reasons why the price may not have dropped, including:
- You booked very early
- You already got a really good deal
- Your holiday falls during school holidays
- The park is close to selling out for your dates
School holiday dates in particular tend to stay expensive because Haven knows demand will be high anyway.
Why Prices Sometimes Drop
Sometimes, Haven simply hasn’t sold as many holidays as expected, so prices get reduced closer to the travel date.
I actually think the Price Promise system is probably easier for Haven than dealing with lots of people cancelling and trying to rebook at lower prices themselves.
What If the Chatbot Doesn’t Recognise the Cheaper Price?
There is an option within the chatbot if you believe your holiday is cheaper, but the system isn’t recognising it automatically.
I didn’t need to use this myself, so I’m not entirely sure what happens next, but it does seem like there’s a process for manual checks if needed for your booking.
Overall, I think this is a really good feature from Haven.
The whole process was quick, simple and stress-free, and the fact you don’t need to ring up or argue with customer service makes it even better.
Everything is done automatically through the chat system.
I checked our break several times in the weeks before our holiday, and eventually the price had increased by around £70 which was interesting to see.
Even if your refund only ends up being small like ours, it’s still worth taking a couple of minutes to check.
You might end up saving yourself a bit of extra spending money for your holiday – bring on the fish and chips!
