2. Freeze Before You Leave

One of the trickier things about camping is not having access to a fridge or freezer. A way to get around this is to freeze the first night’s dinner before leaving and allow it to defrost as you travel meaning you can have an easy, tasty home-cooked meal on your first night.

You could also freeze breakfast ingredients such as sausages and bacon. Pack them in a cool box and then allow them to defrost overnight ready for your first morning’s breakfast.

3. Buy A Fridge That Plugs Into Your Car

Did you know some mini-fridges and car coolers plug into the 12-volt socket (or cigarette lighter in older vehicles) in your car?

This can be an absolute life saver for keeping food cool while you’re camping although do be aware it could drain your battery. It’s also really handy for days out at the beach.

4. Dehydrate Your Own Food

Okay, so this one might not be for those who don’t go camping very often, but if you’re a seasoned camper you might want to invest in a dehydrator.

This will allow you to make meals that are easy to carry, won’t go bad (as in don’t need a fridge or freezer), have plenty of nutritional value and that only need some warm water to rehydrate them into a tasty dinner.
