Introduction: Why Should You Consider Camping?

Camping is a perfect way to experience the natural world, all while being surrounded by natural beauty. It is a great way for families to bond and it can also be an enjoyable solo activity.

There are some people that are hesitant about camping because they think that it will be too uncomfortable or too difficult.

This may have been true in the past but camping today has never been easier! There are now many different kinds of camping gear on the market that make camping more comfortable and enjoyable than ever before.

Camping Tips For Newbies

When you plan to go camping you need to first decide what kind of sleeping arrangements you will have. A tent is one option but if you don’t want something more comfortable campervans or even glamping could be an option.

While glamping is typically more expensive than traditional camping, you don’t need to buy your own equipment or pack much into your car.

Another option to consider is renting a camping pod which is typically a small yet sturdy wooden structure. Less luxurious, than say, a yurt, but more convenient than pitching your own tent.

They also often have electricity which is a big bonus, especially if you’re keen to charge your phone or boil the kettle for a hot drink.

What to Bring on a Camping Trip

Camping is a great way to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and get back to nature.

It’s a great way to catch up with friends and family over a good meal, so it’s no surprise that many people are packing up their tents for this year’s camping season and beyond into the autumn months, especially as Covid has limited many other travel options.

But before you jump in your car for your next outdoor adventure, make sure you are prepared with these things:

Waterproof Matches

A Pot or Pot Set

Tin Foil or Plastic Wrap

Paper Towels

Foil or Wax Paper

Canteen or Water Jug/Bottle

Thermos/Insulated Cup

Campsite Considerations For New Campers

Campsites are a place where you can enjoy the company of new people, explore, and have a good time.

Campsites can be an opportunity to get away from the mundane routines of everyday life and they offer a chance to feel refreshed.

Camping is more than just setting up your tent or RV. It’s about experiencing nature, enjoying the outdoors, and getting in touch with your natural side.

There are a number of considerations that you should think about when going camping for the first time.

Below is a list of questions that you may want to ask yourself before going camping:

-What type of weather will I encounter?

-What kind of campsite do I want?

-How many people will be in my party?

-What is the cost?

-How far do I need to travel

-What is there to do nearby?

-What amenities are on offer both at the campsite and locally?

I know some people are happy just to rock up and explore, but I am definitely a planner when it comes to going away on holiday. When camping, ideally I’d like a supermarket within a half an hour drive so I know we can easily stock up on supplies during our trip.

I also like to know what we could do locally in case of inclement weather, which of course is inevitable when camping in the U.K unless you get very lucky indeed!

Important Tips for First-Timer Capers

There are many different types of campsites to choose from. Camping is an enjoyable experience, but there are some important things to keep in mind before you hit the trail.

The first thing to consider is the type of site you will be camping at. People often think there are only two choices – a camping area with a campground or a wild site where no one else has been.

Camping areas with campsites have all the amenities that a camper might need, such as showers and toilets. A wild camping site, on the other hand, does not have these same luxuries and can be riskier if it’s not done correctly. Wild sites usually have fewer people around for safety reasons too.

Both types of campsites have pros and cons so it is important to know what is going to work best for you and your family.

Conclusion and Ways to Get Started

Camping is a great way to get in touch with nature, spend time with loved ones and even bond with your kids.

There are a lot of ways to get started camping. You can choose from a campground near your home in case you decide you really hate it or search for campsites that are further away or more secluded.

You can also rent out a motorhome for a weekend to see how you get on.

Keep in mind that not everyone is cut out for camping, so be sure to know what you’re getting into before you start packing up the car.

If you’re worried about the cost of camping equipment then you can get lots second-hand on eBay and Facebook Marketplace.

I’ll admit I loved camping as a kid, hated it as a teen and in my twenties but now in my thirties with a child of my own, it does seem like a very cheap way to get away for a few nights. My husband is very keen so it’s probably just my reservations holding us back from going more often!

If you’re new to camping, consider picking up some books on how to camp before you actually go so that you’ll know what you’re doing once you arrive at the campsite!
