Airports are a place where you need to be on your toes all the time. You have to keep your bags, ID, boarding pass and other important documents in check. And when you are in a hurry, it can be really hard to find things in the sea of people and suitcases.
There are some hacks that might help you get through the airport quicker and with less hassle.
Airport hacks can make your journey more pleasant and less stressful.
8 Amazing Airport Hacks
1. Book an airport lounge
If you know it ‘s likely you need to be at the airport with plenty of time to spare, booking an airport lounge is a great choice. While it will cost some money, airport lounges often offer free hot and cold drinks, Wi-Fi, and magazines and some even have gaming areas for the kids.
If you typically end up spending money or just mindlessly wandering around then having somewhere comfortable to relax can be a great benefit.
2. Check Duty-Free Prices Against High-street Stores and Supermarkets
Duty-free can be very tempting. However, supermarkets and high-street stores such as Boots and Superdrug often have very similar, if not better, prices on things like make-up and perfume.
If you are tempted, do a quick check for prices online before buying and ask yourself if you’re only buying it because duty-free seems cheap.

3. Airport Hacks: Pack A Power Bank
Airport stays can sometimes be longer than expected. While there are sometimes plugs that can be used for chargers dotted about, having a power bank means you can recharge your phone or tablet and continue to use it for entertainment or work.
4. Bring A Refillable Drinks Bottle
While you won’t be able to take any liquids through airport security, you will be able to take an empty refillable bottle which can be filled in the airport. It’s also just handy to have on your travel or for filling up once you reach your destination.

5. Make Your Suitcase / Luggage Stands Out
Trying to spot your suitcase among the masses of similarly coloured and sized ones can be tricky. And pretty embarrassing if you grab someone else’s by mistake and then have to put it back!
There are plenty of ways you can make your suitcase stand out. For my own suitcase, I used some extra thick washi tape which is covered in penguins to create three stripes. Much easier to spot! You could use tape, stickers or even try tying a brightly coloured ribbon around your suitcase.
Another top tip is to take a picture of your luggage before flying. This means you can show it to airport staff if it gets misplaced.

Home luggage scales can help avoid any surprises when checking your luggage. They can be purchased pretty cheaply and will save you lots of money in additional baggage fares over the years to come.
8. Wear Your Extra Layers
