On our recent trip to Center Parcs our daughter decided she like a braid put in her hair. As she’s only six, this wasn’t something she’d ever had before and she really enjoyed the whole experience.
Here’s what you can expect when it comes to hair braiding at Center Parcs.
My daughter is very girly, like many children her age, and she’s obsessed with unicorns, sparkles, and fun hair accessories.
When we were booking activities at Center Parcs, I didn’t even consider hair braiding. But when she saw another little girl getting a braid while building a teddy bear at the Build-A-Bear workshop, she was immediately interested.

Luckily, there was availability, and we were able to get it done without needing a prior booking.
The shop itself doesn’t accept payments, so we had to step over to the counter at the entrance to the Sports Plaza to pay.
Once we had paid, we returned to the shop where my daughter was shown a selection of colors and sparkly threads to choose from.
She chose pink, blue and sparkly gold and also got to pick the colours of the beads that went on the end of the braid.
The lady doing the braiding was lovely and carefully picked out strands of hair before starting the braid.

The process took around ten minutes, though it may take a bit longer if your child has particularly long hair.
We were pleased with how it turned out – the braid looked gorgeous (and apologies for not the best image below, but I wanted to at least try and show the length and style.)

I also appreciated that we could drop in without a reservation (which was perfect for a rainy day!) and it was fairly affordable at £10.
We received advice on how to care for the braid, including not using conditioner while it was in and tips for swimming with it.
My advice? Try to get the braid done on the first day of your stay, if possible. We knew the braid would need to be removed before our daughter went back to school the following week, so getting it done early ensured it lasted as long as possible.
When we eventually removed the braid, we carefully preserved part of it and attached it to a hair clip, so she could wear it again and again.
Do I Need To Book Hair Braiding At Center Parcs?
Where Is Hair Braiding At Center Parcs Longleat?
No, there is no need to book hair braiding unless you really want to.
It’s not an activity regually that sells out and we liked being able to squeeze it in when we had some unepxteced spare time due to poor weather.
How Much Does A Hair Braid At Center Parcs Cost?
On our most recent trip to Center Parcs Longleat, a hair braid cost £10, however this could differ across locations and be subject to change.
Considering how expensive Center Parcs activities can be, I thought this was a great budget-friendly choice. Fcent
How Long Did The Braid Last For?
We had the braid put in on Wednesday and it lasted until Sunday when we chose to remove it.
It had started to slide down the hair a little but I think that’s to be expected.
We had no issues with it in the pool after swimming three times and just ensured our daughter’s hair was carefully tied back while we swam.
Overall, we thought this was a nice cost effective treat for our six year old, who felt like she’d had a little bit of pampering.
She is keen to get another braid when we return to Center Parcs later this year!
